POSITION: Lead Analyst

POSITION PROFILE:
This position will be responsible for the development, presentation, and support of agricultural commodity supply forecasts with an emphasis on area planted to corn, soybeans, wheat, and sugar globally. Responsibilities will include development of appropriate methodologies, management of an analyst team, preparation of weekly report content, and support for business development and key client accounts.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Graduate degree (Ph.D. preferred) in geography, anthropology, ecology, environmental studies, or a related field
- Broad inter-disciplinary training and analytical experience in both the natural and social sciences
- Demonstrated competence in satellite remote sensing and geospatial analysis
- Strong grounding in statistics with proficiency in one or more environments for statistical and numerical computation (R, JMP)
- High competence in scripting (bash, Python) and database query (SQL) languages
- Ability to manage multiple, concurrent analytical workflows
- Demonstrated success managing a research team
